Welcome to the Historic Ashtabula Harbor — a vibrant Lake Erie coastal destination in Northeast, Ohio where history, community, and commerce connect.

The Historic Ashtabula Harbor is a Midwest foodie’s dream.

Our award-winning restaurants offer some of the best food creations between Cleveland and Buffalo along the Lake Erie shoreline.

The Historic Ashtabula Harbor community is brimming with history
and united by a shared
love for the area.

No matter where you visit in the
Historic Ashtabula Harbor, you’ll find a lively community of people dedicated to uplifting and progressing the area forward.

The Historic Ashtabula Harbor is known for its visual charm, and is a thriving hub of retail shops, boutique services, and a working Bascule Bridge.

Our working harbor offers beautiful waterfront views, lodging, and leisure activities neighboring Ohio's Wine Country.

There is so much to discover along the Historic Ashtabula Harbor waterfront. Find beaches, parks, museums, and cultural centers. Explore the Lake Erie Coastal Ohio Trail, fish, and boat through the Ashtabula River.

“There are so many things to see and do in Ashtabula. We always find places to see and explore. Summer, fall, winter, or spring.”

- Vicky Forson

Many of the area’s buildings were constructed between 1865-1878 when Ashtabula was a flourishing port city.

The Historic Ashtabula Harbor website and social media pages are run by a volunteer board of directors called the Lift Bridge Community Association (LBCA), whose mission is to promote and develop the Historic Ashtabula Harbor as a major regional destination for tourism, recreation, and entertainment.
